On this first circuit, the most famous, you will discover the whole coast of the Gulf of Sagone and Porto

The Col de Vergio and the Niolu region

Finally Sagone, opens to you the doors of an authentic Corsican experience that perfectly represents the region of Niolu which knew how to preserve all its traditions.
In the heart of this valley, the most isolated of the island, the inhabitants have long lived independently, farming and raising families.
It is a land of archaeological sites (Albertacce) and lakes, a magical place for paragliding.
The Regional Natural Park and the Nioline shepherds participate together in preserving their natural heritage by protecting several species such as the Golden Eagle and the bearded vulture.

Vergio Pass

(+15 mn / +10 km).
It’s possible to tour the statue of Christ the King, view of the gorges of the Spelunca and Calacuccia dam, the boundary between South Corsica and Corsica,
The time of visiting is estimated at 10-15 minutes.
Parking: at the neck.

Albertacce

(+20 mn / +19 km).
Possibility to visit the chestnut Grove and the St Francis Convent, estimated visit time 30/40 minutes.
Parking: in the convent of St. Francis.

Option 1 :

Calacuccia (+5 mn / +4 km).
Loop through Casamicciola.
Tour of the dam and the Lake, the visiting time is estimated for 20/30 minutes.
Parking: at the exit of the village.
Return to Sagone – a total trip of 130 km and 2 hours drive with no stops.

Option 2 :

Corte (+35 mn / +31 km).
Possibility of visiting Museum of Corsica, Citadel and Forest of Restonica, estimated time of visit at 1:45 / 2:00.
Parking: at the Citadel.
Vizzavona (+30 mn / +30 km).
Return Sagone by Mezzavia is a total of 194 km and 3 hours without stops.

(15 minutes / 14 km), picturesque fishing port and Marina. Its history was marked by the installation of a Greek colony in the seventeenth century.
From these influences, the village keeps two additional religious faiths with two churches that are facing each other, one from the Latin rite and the other one from the Byzantine rite.
Possibility to take a tour of 2 churches, the visit is estimated to last 35 to 45 minutes..

(+ 17 min / 19 km), built on a 1,350 foot elevated plateau above sea level and the village majestically overlooks the Gulf of Porto facing the peninsulas of Senino and Scandola.
Ranked among the most beautiful villages of France, picturesque with its white houses arranged amphitheatrically and dominated by the beautiful church of St Mary, Piana serves as a backdrop to un exceptional site offering countless discoveries, visits and excursions such as the Ficajola marine (not accessible by car) and beach of Arone.
Opportunity to visit Piana village, estimated time of the visit 30/35 minutes.

(+5 mn / +2 km), pikes, columns, figures gnawed by the wind and the sea, the creeks of Piana are considered one of the wonders of Corsica.
A slow work of erosion gave to these shredded rocks, overlooking 300 meters a blue sea and deep, strange and sometimes fantastic forms.
Possibility of visiting the “Tête de chien”, the “Rocher des Amoureux”, time of the visit estimated at 30/40 min.

PORTO NAVY
(12 minutes/10 km), located at the mouth of the river Porto, the port of Porto and its famous square tower is easy to access.
The trail and the interior of the tower are well laid out (presentation on some historical aspects) but in return, there is an access fee. 
The view of the Gulf of Porto from the terrace (12 meters high) is spectacular, with the les Calanches de Piana to the southwest and to the northwest the Scandola reserve and the Gulf of Girolata, inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1983.
Only one another Tower is visible: the Capo Rosso one, located at 12 km.

Tower of Porto, the visiting time estimated at 30/40 minutes, individual price €2.50 and group rate € 1.50, Aquarium, visit time estimated at 15-20 minutes, individual ticket € 5.50 and group rate on request.

(21 min / 23 km), village at 830 metres, and however only 10 km from Porto as the crow flies.
At the edge of the Aitone forest populated with chestnut trees and wild animals, a mule track heading down the heavily treed gorges, is signposted explaining the fauna, the flora, a mule track construction and the manufacturing of a Genoese bridge.

It is above all an easy cultural stroll that can be brightened up with a picnic and a swim in the river with its translucent and fresh waters. 
The trail ends at the double bridge to reach the path that climbs to the small village of Ota and its famous rock, visible from the middle of the trail.
Different paths possible according to your desires: “Le Sentier des chataigniers” (3 hours) or visit the village (30 minutes).

(+6 mn / +5 km), a typical mountain village that has retained all its charm. Famous for its traditional charcuterie, you can stop by Pascal Santucci and enjoy charcuterie, jam and Corsican biscuits.

After 30 min and 26 km you will pass the Col de Sevi and the Col St Antoine, arrival at the Sagone is a total journey of 98 km and 1hr 40min without stops.

First circuit, the city of Ajaccio, the Imperial City: depart from Sagone at 9:30am after a poolside breakfast.

AJACCIO
(45 mn / 37 km).
Morning visit to enjoy the atmosphere of the city, stroll along the old port, through areas full of activity, as well as through the alleys of the aristocratic houses by the old town market.
Parking: Bus station. Lunch break with many possibilities in the city at fairly tourist-y restaurants like the “20123,” a small village named PILA CANALE of the Taravo Valley, recreated in this restaurant in the old Ajaccio.

Early afternoon:
Option 1 :
Departure from Foch place for a guided tour in a small train through the old town, and then direction towards the Iles Sanguinaires.  
90 minutes of visits including 10 minutes on the Parata peninsula.

Walking tour of the old town Palace Fesch (the largest collection of Italian paintings after that of the Louvre),
Cathedral of Ajaccio, the Napoleonic salon of the Town Hall, the Bonaparte House, the Napoleon grotto.

On the way back to Sagone, a visit of the area of the Peraldi County at MEZZAVIA, Protected designation of Origin.
It is here that the Sciaccarellu was born, a unique grape variety of high quality and of character!
It gives wine these singular aromas of almond and black currant. Here, the reds have broad shoulders, roses have class and whites,
based on Vermentinu, have a floral distinction. Guided tours on request.
Country of Ajaccio, Valleys of the Gravone and of Prunelli.
This second circuit in the country of Ajaccio will allow you to discover Corsica from the interior, ‘the true Corsica’ some would say, because more than an island, Corsica is a mountain in the sea.

This unique 2.5-hectare park in Europe is dedicated to breeding, studying and protecting terrestrial and aquatic turtles all over the world. 
The center houses 150 species and over 3,000 animals.
Parking: on-site.
Option 1 : VIZZAVONA 
(30 minutes / 26 km), pass that marks the boundary between the South Corsica (2A) and Corsica (2B).
You can eat in a hostel or have a picnic in the forest before you go discover the Cascades des Anglais, one of the most famous natural sites of Corsica.
Parking: the main parking for the pass.
Option 2 : BASTELICA
((30 minutes / 29 km), Mecca of Corsican gastronomy and native villa of Sampiero Corso. Visit to Aziane charcuterie, producer of traditional Corsican charcuterie meat.
Meals: Chez PAUL at the heart of the village. Parking: Private Parking.

(1:00 60 km from Vizzavona and 1 hr 00/62 km from Basilica), more top wineries in Corsica, the Clos of Alzeto is located on the hillsides of the Cinarca Valley. 
Operated since 1800 by the same family, this area of 52 hectares enjoys maritime influences and a climate privileged by its altitude and its exposure.
IHere, the ground work is done pulling any weeds, and harvests are handmade.
Possibility of visiting the cellar from 14:00 to 19:00 estimated visit time 30 minutes / 45 minutes.
